As the end of a highly successful 2012 approaches, it is time to recognize the monthly Faculty Accolades, which shine a spotlight on the major accomplishments of our faculty, students and staff. Among this month's Accolades are Ted Stathopoulos, Bodhisatta Hajra, Catherine Mulligan, Ola Amayru, Nizar Bouguila, Mohammad Nurujjaman, Abdelwahab Hamou-Lhadj, Hoi Dic Ng and Ted Obuchowicz, Wai Yee Chow, Nella Fiorentino, Jeffrey Landry, Sonia McCalla, and Georgia Michalakopoulos.
Ted Stathopoulos and Bodhisatta Hajra have come up with environmentally friendly building guidelines for modern cities. This provides a much-needed update to the industry standards developed decades ago by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, the international technical society that sets the rules for building ventilation. Stathopoulos and recent Concordia graduate Hajra wrote the study, recently featured in the peer-reviewed journal, Building and Environment.
