Software Installation on a User-Managed Computer

We are no longer lending software media to users. Instead, the software installation on User-Managed computers is done through the ENCS internal networking.

For Licensed Software

The licensed software can only be installed on ENCS-owned computers, i.e. computers with an ENCS barcode. The computer must have a static ENCS IP address, which means the computer should be connected to a dedicated network jack. Laptops, which do not have a static IP, should be dropped off to the Service Desk in the EV Building, in room EV007.182, with the power adapter, once the request has been approved. In all cases, the "Software Installation Request Form", must be filled and processed.

Regarding licensed software for a networked computer, an installation link (URL) will be sent through email and the instructions are detailled on the URL. For software applications where a license needs to be purchased, supervisor approval and a budget code are needed.

For Free Software

We also prepare the software installation package for a few free software applications that are often required by our users. They can be installed directly on your computers starting from this webpage.
